MEDINA HILLTOP

At the top of this hill a prehistoric hilltop has been preserved. A rampart drywall/causeway (4 -5 meters wide and 1 – 3 meters high) has been almost completely preserved, and the best-preserved parts are on the eastern, northern and western side. The plateau of the hilltop is quite uneven and rocky, and it occupies an oval area whose dimensions are around 80x40 meters. Around 15 meters from the main rampart wall on the east side another rampart wall, around 30 meters long, has been preserved. Since the access to the hilltop is the easiest from this eastern side this wall a special effort was put into defence of this part. There are scarce ceramic remains in the hilltop and they approximately date back to the late Bronze Age, that is to the Iron Age. Whilst supervising the south and southeast side of the hilltop (for the access road and the plateau of the wind turbine) no archaelogical remains were found and the aforementioned objects (the access road and the plateau) are 40 to 80 meters away from the hilltop.
