Kaštel Tartaglia, once owned by a Split noble family Tartaglia, is located on a hill above the village of Konjsko. This fortified complex with a farmyard enclosed by a defence wall on the north (with a main entrance and embrasures) and east (with a walled portal). It is surrounded by cliffs on the south and west. The core of kaštel is a Turkish tower from 1530, and today it is in a L-shape (with annexes), and its height is P+1 (2) floors. It was built of stone in various phases, and it was partly plastered. The roof is multi-sloped, and it is covered with hollow tiles, while the eaves are made of stone slabs. The openings in the façade are framed with stone thresholds. There is a home chapel in the southern façade, an elliptic window and a country club terrace which was once used to go to the garden (“žardin”) below the cliff. Kaštel Tartaglia is one of the three archaelogical complexes of noble estates in Split-Trogir highlands. It integrates a defence, commercial and country club function, and its prominent position on a natural cliff makes it stand out in the vista of a highlands landscape.
