CHURCH OF HOLY SPIRIT

The church of Holy Spirit in Korušice was built in 1910 near the old one where only a rectangular apse had remained. Initially, it was a chapel that had been expanded even before 1757. It didn’t have a bell tower, but instead the bell hung from a tree. A new chapel was built by a lessee Marko Ljubić. In 1996 the old church was renovated, and in 2000 the roof was done up, too. The new church is made of stone. There is a round window above the entrance. At the top of the façade there is a bell gable with two bells. The main altar is made of plaster. There is a painting of St. Nicholas (19th c.) and statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Caius. Next to a triumphal arch there are two little wooden altars, one with a painting of the Immaculate Madonna, and the other with a statue of St. Peter on it.
